Research Interests

Much of the research interest is focused on the electronic and magnetic properties of alloys and intermetallic compounds. In addition, efforts are being made to search for novel materials which show unusual phenomena such as heavy fermion behavior and high temperature superconductivity. Various studies include design and building of cryogenic probes and equipment used at low temperatures, sample preparation using both arc furnace and induction melting, characterization of materials by x-ray diffraction, and measurements of resistivity, specific heat, magnetic susceptibility and Mössbauer effect in the temperature range from 0.03 to 300 K. Moreover, we collaborate with groups at Brookhaven National Laboratory, the National Magnet Laboratory and other research institutes to both broaden and intensify our studies.
